Celebrating Ada Lovelace Day
On 10 October 2017, 90 girls from local schools visited Daresbury and Rutherford Appleton Laboratory sites for a day full of inspiration, innovative ideas and technical challenges.
The event, aiming to cultivate a passion for technology and computing in young women from various backgrounds, was sponsored and initiated by IBM UK Foundation (an early professionals programme for graduates, apprentices and interns) and the IBM Girls Who Can team. Girls Who Can is a support network within IBM UK Foundation, with the aim to provide a healthy and positive environment where not just women, but all the work force, can prosper and fulfil their potential.
