We introduce you to some of the members of the Hartree Centre team.




Luke Mason - Application Performance Engineering Group Leader

Luke leads the Application Performance Engineering group at the Hartree Centre. The group specialises in code scalability and performance on HPC (high performance computing) systems as well as porting and optimisation for emerging and novel architectures. He is experienced in working alongside both industrial and academic scientists to produce accurate and efficient code across a range of disciplines and architectures. His group is involved in development for the Square Kilometre Array and the EPSRC funded SERT (Scale-free, Energy-aware, Resilient and Transparent Adaptation of CSE applications to Mega-core Systems) project to name a few of its current activities.


Olivia O'Sullivan - Impact and Engagement Officer

Olivia joined the Hartree Centre in October 2016. Her role within the Impact and Engagement team informs and engages our current and prospective partners about the impact the Hartree Centre has on industry, the UK economy and our society. Olivia is also responsible for developing internal communications strategies. Previously, Olivia worked in public engagement with biomedical science at the University of Manchester where she collaborated with research and community groups across the North West to deliver a series of engaging initiatives to encourage dialogue around health research.


Karl Richardson - Partner Services Officer

Karl is a member of the Programme Management Office at the Hartree Centre. Karl’s role involves managing all platform as a service projects, access programmes and collaborative projects with the University of Liverpool. Karl joined the Hartree Centre in 2015 after spending a year with the High Performance Systems Group as a Year in Industry student, helping to improve internal processes and procedures. His current priority is to monitor and improve customer experience, and ensure the satisfaction of our industry partners.
