Lisa Whimperley | Customer Services Operative
Lisa joined the Hartree Centre in May 2017. Her role as a Customer Services Operative within the Hartree Helpdesk team is to ensure the users raised issues and requests are seen through to resolution. Her current priorities are to develop and optimise ServiceNow for the Hartree Helpdesk, improve customer experience and engagement and to ensure the satisfaction of each individual user. Previously, Lisa worked in Application Support within the Aviation Industry at Lockheed Martin where she provided 24/7 Windows Server based support for airports worldwide. Before her time at Lockheed Martin, Lisa also worked for Hewlett Packard as a Unix Application Support Analyst for the Central Payment System dedicated to DWP.
Louise Butcher | Data Scientist
Louise joined the Data Science group at the Hartree Centre in June 2017. Previously, Louise has worked at the University of Manchester on machine learning and specifically face recognition in poorly controlled environments. She co-founded a spin out company to exploit this work within the computer games industry, reversing the technology to generate and and animate crowds of artificial faces. Immediately prior to joining the Hartree Centre, Louise worked for the Institute of Physics, promoting physics in all forms around the region to a variety of stakeholders and the general public.
Iain Bethune | Technical Programme Manager
Iain joined the Hartree Centre in June 2017 as Technical Programme Manager for the Innovation Return on Research (IROR) programme. IROR, is a 5 year joint research and development programme with IBM Research, aiming to produce an 18-24 month competitive advantage for UK industry, and to develop digital assets which can be exploited as part of other Hartree projects and collaborations.Previously, Iain was a Project Manager at EPCC, with a focus on academic research software development, HPC application optimisation and atomistic simulation in Chemistry, Materials Science and Biophysics. Iain is also studying a part-time PhD programme in Physics at University of Edinburgh, developing the Molecular Integration Simulation Toolkit.
Mark Pipe | Data Scientist
Mark joined the Hartree Centre in May 2017. He has a background in experimental particle physics and has several years' experience in data analytics and software development across various sectors in industry. He is part of the new Data Science team at Hartree and is currently working on the LCR 4.0 programme, bringing analytics and HPC capabilities to SMEs in the Liverpool City Region.
