After winning ‘Proof of Principle’ support in our IoT competition
last year, Welsh start-up WaveReach worked with the Hartree Centre to
cut an estimated 6 months off time to market for its new Lighthouse
communications product, bringing the benefits of the Internet of Things
(IoT) to rural regions with limited mobile infrastructure and Internet
connectivity.
As well as trialling the product on a self-contained sensor
network at the Science and Technology Facilities Council's (STFC)
Daresbury Laboratory, the Hartree Centre assisted with integration and
testing of security agents to make the communications even more robust.
“Access to the Hartree Centre’s outstanding scientific and technical
capabilities has given us a springboard that will help unlock the huge
business opportunities offered by the IoT.”
