Director's note

Welcome to the latest edition of Hartree Insights.

Over the past two months, I’ve been lucky enough to meet many of our stakeholders and to learn first-hand from them about the exciting and very varied range of projects that we are jointly undertaking.

Hartree is committed to being a hub for HPC, big data and cognitive computing expertise and leading edge technology solutions. Our staff listen to our stakeholders and work with them to establish partnerships to tackle industry challenges using a combination of research skills, technical expertise and business intelligence.  Our aim is to create better products and services which increase the competitiveness of UK business through efficiency gains, better product design and shorter times to market.

Prior to moving to Hartree, I worked in a similar role in the academic sector so I understand the huge potential for leveraging industry and academic expertise to work on real world problems and deliver impact. Hartree offers the opportunity to undertake this sort of industrial engagement on a large scale, with the added value which gives early adopters access to leading edge, state of the art technologies, through our technology partnerships with vendors such as IBM and our access to IBM IP.

I hope that you enjoy reading about our activities in this newsletter – please contact us to find out more about how we can help your business or to explore partnership opportunities
