About Intel Xeon Phi
The Intel Xeon Phi (Knight’s Corner generation) is an accelerator co-processor using a many core architecture; it has greater parallelism and a much larger number of cores than an ordinary CPU (central processing unit). In order to benefit from this architecture your code will have to execute concurrently across multiple cores and threads whilst exploiting the Single Instruction, Many Data (SIMD) paradigm. With the release of the new generation of Xeon Phi processors (Knight’s Landing) this architecture is even more compelling and the Knight’s Corner is an ideal development platform to start preparing your code.
